Did You Know that an umbrella policy provides additional liability protection above and beyond your primary policies? If your assets exceed $500-750K, you probably need a $1MM umbrella. If your net assets exceed, $1MM, you should probably consider a $2MM umbrella. The idea is to have more liability coverage than your total net assets to protect you from catastrophic lawsuits or liability claims. The cost of a $1MM umbrella ranges from $180.00-$260.00/yr (assuming no more than 2 cars and 2 properties and no youthful operators).
